Section 8 Tenant and Landlord
The Section 8 Tenant and Landlord program is in our Section 8 software designed to manage the records of every Section 8 tenant in your agency’s jurisdiction and every landlord that participates in your agency’s Section 8 program. You can also process and print subsidy checks for these individuals.
Program Details:
Section 8 Tenant and Landlord supports all current HUD-approved methods of Section 8 subsidy payment, including Project-Based Certificates, Preservation Vouchers, Mod-Rehab, Mod-Rehab Additional, Housing Vouchers, and Portable Certificates/Vouchers. Tenant (URP) and Landlord (HAP) data is instantly available to the user through name and Social Security number searches. Tenant and landlord check printing is an integral part of the program. When producing URP checks, you can include all URP payments to a utility company on a single check or produce a separate check for each tenant. When producing landlord checks, you can perform direct deposit data transmission for any landlord.
Users can prepare HAP and Utility Payment registers from the tenant and landlord databases. The program maintains tenant and landlord history files to track past problem tenants or landlords and to determine if current applicants have ever occupied your agency’s housing in the past. The system verifies information as users enter it into the tenant, landlord, and accounting records to avoid missing or invalid information. The monthly information concerning TTP, Rent, HAP, URP, and other data, which changes at recertification, is updated at the time specified by the effective date set in the Occupancy and Rent Calculation program.
The Section 8 Tenant and Landlord program also tracks Family Self-Sufficiency interest earned and maintains cumulative totals on the escrow account. FSS checks for Public Housing tenants are generated through the Accounts Payable. The initial FSS form and subsequent forms are created in the Occupancy and Rent Calculation program. Occupancy and Rent Calculation updates FSS information whenever a tenant’s rent changes, and sends that information to the Section 8 Tenant and Landlord and Tenant Accounts Receivable programs.
