Giving Back to the Community
Habitat for Humanity
Starting in 2003, Tenmast began sponsoring the construction of a house, called the "Good Business House," through Habitat for Humanity in Lexington, KY. The Good Business House started as a challenge Tenmast made to the Lexington business community to contribute the funds necessary to build a house for a family in need in our community.
Habitat builds safe, decent, and affordable houses in partnership with qualified low-income families. Habitat's cost is $37,500 to build a three-bedroom house in Lexington. For the 2003 Good Business house, Tenmast challenged the local business community to contribute the out-of-pocket cost, and Tenmast made a matching contribution of $.50 for every dollar contributed by other businesses. Ultimately, Tenmast contributed $12,500 to the Good Business house as a match to the balance of $25,000 raised through donations from Lexington businesses.
Tenmast has joined the Lexington business community in completing a Good Business House with Habitat each year since 2003.
